Please come early, at least 30 minutes before your scheduled adventure experience.
We highly recommend making a reservation for your adventure in advance, especially during the high tourist season. This ensures that you secure your spot and can plan your visit accordingly
We have two adventure courses:
The Family adventure Course is designed for guests aged 6 and up who are at least 1m tall; this is perfect for kids, teens, mum, and dad to enjoy themselves in nature together.
For those seeking a tougher challenge, the Fitness Course is designed for the physically fit who crave a high-adrenaline adventure, bigger thrills, and adventurous activities! Recommended for guests aged 16 and over, at least 1.5m tall, and comfortable with heights, the Fitness Course offers more games, activities and thrills for the same price, although more challenging.
As our flagship attraction, the Fitness Course features 33 obstacles, including over 300 meters of exhilarating ziplines and our unique tree-trunk spiral staircase as well as our canopy walk, all set in breathtaking nature near Aburi Gardens.
All guests under 16 must have a supervising adult either participating in the adventure activities with them or supervising them from our observation trail. If your child does not require supervision or there is another adult supervising them, you can wait at our serene and scenic Forest Café over a beverage, observing all the secrets of nature
As is with all amusement parks and attractions, we have weight limits to partaking in our adventure and activities. Maximum weight for all our courses is 120kg. Further minimum age and height for the Family Course is 6 years and 1m respectively and for the Fitness Course is 16 and 1.5 meters respectively.
Self-belay at We-Ape uses a safety system where you move around the adventure course clipping and unclipping your safety lines as you do the activities. At least one of the two safety lines on your harness must always remain attached to the safety system as you navigate the obstacles and platforms. If you are supervising a young person under 16 years, you are responsible for making sure that they use their safety equipment correctly while partaking in our adventure activities.
A supervising adult will only need a ticket if they are participating in the activities. On the family adventure course, participants below age 16 can be safely supervised from our scenic observation trail surrounded by nature. For the Fitness Course, however, the supervising adult must also join the adventure. We encourage parents to participate with their children so everyone can share the thrill of the zipline and other activities together, most especially if it’s their first time on the adventure course or if they feel a little nervous.
Wear comfortable outdoor clothing (t-shirts recommended) and closed-toe shoes suitable for outdoor activities. The Park will provide necessary safety gear for your adventure experience.
We-Ape adheres to high safety standards for all our activities, and trained adventure guides will accompany you during your activities. Be sure to follow the safety guidelines provided by the adventure guides.
Yes, it is recommended to bring your camera or smartphone to capture your adventure and activities as well as the interesting parts of nature. However, make sure it’s securely fastened to your body during activities to avoid dropping it.
Our Forest Café has beverages and a limited selection of snacks for guests prior, during and after their adventure and other activities. Presently, visitors are allowed to bring their own food to the park.
We-Ape is open all year round and every day of the week, so it really depends on the experience you want to have. If you want to have the space and quiet to enjoy the serenity of nature or for family moments, we advise coming on a weekday or if you must come on a weekend, come on a Sunday before noon. If the sounds and excitement of others enriches your experience, then surely visit on a Saturday or public holiday when the park is bustling with activities and full of life, making it one of the most vibrant attractions near Aburi Gardens and a must on your list of things to do in Accra.
As is recommended in other adventure parks, we highly recommend our guests make a reservation. For walk-in customers the wait time ranges from 15 minutes to no availability (especially on weekends and public holidays). Also note that we don’t accept cash at our site so walk-in guests must have a means of electronic payment.
This depends on the physical abilities of the participant and other participants on the adventure courses.
Most participants complete the Family Course between 1.5 and 2 hours and the Fitness Course between 2 and 2.5 hours. This includes the time taken to complete safety induction and practice activities.
Guests that need to cancel or reschedule their reservations can call our office to have the booking cancelled.
Below conditions apply:
In fairness to all guests, participants with reserved bookings who fail to show for their reserved booking time and provide no prior notice of cancellation are liable for the entire booking cost. The No-Show Policy is applicable to all participants, including individual participants within a group booking. We believe this ensures fairness across all zipline adventures, team activities, and other attractions at our eco park.
All participants are covered by our public liability policy
Individuals that have high blood pressure, chronic heart illness, asthma, pregnant, under the influence of alcohol or had a recent injury or operation at the back, hips, legs, knees, feet, shoulders, or neck are not allowed to participate in the adventure activities.
It rains often in Aburi area especially during the rainy seasons. Most storms though pass in about an hour. If there is bad weather (heavy rains or strong winds) and guests are on the adventure course or already at the eco park, they can wait out the bad weather at our Forest Café, reschedule their activity or request a credit for future use. We-Ape as a matter of policy does not issue refunds due to bad weather.
